This attractive, many-stemmed shrub does best in moist, open sunny areas. It reaches 4 ft. or more and blooms in early to mid-summer with fragrant pink to purple flower plumes. A great choice for seasonally wet areas or rain gardens. Good for wildlife to browse and can help stabilize streambank erosion. Spiraea douglasii aggressively spreads by rhizomes and can form dense impenetrable thickets in moist areas.
