Ranunculus occidentalis - Western Buttercup

Western buttercup creates a bright yellow display in the spring, mixing beautifully with purple-blue camas and pink shooting stars. The flowers are a good pollen and nectar source for early season pollinators. Once established, western buttercups are relatively low maintenance and unlikely to become weedy like some other Ranunculus species. The plants go dormant in the summer after setting seed and re-emerge in the fall after the first rains.
