Description Collinsia graces the damp places in spring, bearing tiny (1/4 inch) bicolored flowers with a deep purple lower lip. The upper lip can range from white to pink or lavender. Lanceolate leaves with rolled edges reach out from wiry red stems that stay fairly short, usually under a foot high. Annuals like Collinsia survive by flowering freely, which keeps the bees busy as well.
