Description Red maids (fringed red maids, wild portulaca) is a low-growing, spreading succulent. The  bright pink flowers look lovely when grouped with other low-growing wildflowers. Attracts native bees. These spring annuals do not transplant well and should be sown directly into prepared beds in late fall or very early spring.
