Amelanchier alnifolia - Saskatoon serviceberry

In full sun, Saskatoon serviceberry's delicately scalloped oval-shaped leaves are a pale blue-green, while in shade they tend to be darker. White fragrant flowers appear before the leaves in April to May and are followed by small blueberry-like edible fruit.
