Largeleaf avens grows in streambanks, woodland edges and moist meadows. The long bloom period makes it an important late-season pollen source. Distinctive fruits are reddish spiky spheres with tiny hooks that catch on clothing and animal fur. Flowers and plant resemble cinquefoil. |
