Physocarpus capitatus - Pacific Ninebark

Ninebark is a shrub commonly found in riparian areas. Named for its shredding or peeling bark, which appears to be multiple layers, ninebark is covered in clusters of small white flowers in late spring to early summer. Blooms are attractive to bees and butterflies, while seed capsules in the fall provide food for songbirds.
