Description |
With its showy soft golden plumes, goldenrod provides a splash of color in late summer and fall, when it is also a vital source of pollen, nectar and seeds for insects and birds. Bees especially collect large amounts of goldenrod nectar and pollen before winter. Fast-growing with spreading rhizomes that give it a reputation for weediness, especially in watered gardens.
